What it is

The Burger Digs sits on the upper level of the Jurassic Park visitor complex and serves burgers, a chicken sandwich, chicken fingers and fries. The distinguishing feature is a toppings bar, which lets you build the burger up beyond what arrives on the tray - a small thing that materially improves an ordinary burger.

It is air-conditioned, it has plenty of seating, and it is almost always quieter than the counters closer to the walkway. It exists in the shadow of Thunder Falls Terrace two minutes away, which serves better food for similar money, and the honest advice is to walk the extra two minutes.

Our verdict

A perfectly fine burger with a good toppings bar, two minutes' walk from significantly better food. It only wins if a burger is what somebody actually wants.

The dishes this kitchen is actually known for. Menus change seasonally, so treat this as what to look for rather than a guaranteed list.

  • Cheeseburger with the toppings bar
  • Crispy chicken sandwich
  • Chicken fingers
  • Veggie burger

Tips for The Burger Digs

  • Use the toppings bar properly. It is the only reason this burger is better than the one at Captain America Diner.
  • Walk two minutes further to Thunder Falls Terrace unless somebody in your group specifically wants a burger.
  • The upstairs room is quieter than almost any counter seating in the park and it is rarely full.
  • Mobile order works well here and the pickup window is fast.

Double Cheeseburger

The Burger Digs

$16.49

A double-patty cheeseburger with fries, finished at a self-serve toppings bar with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and sauces.

Our take: Ordinary until you use the toppings bar, which is the only thing separating it from every other burger here. Thunder Falls Terrace is two minutes away and much better.

Savory

The Burger Digs: common questions

Is The Burger Digs better than Thunder Falls Terrace?

No. Thunder Falls Terrace is two minutes away, serves wood-fired rotisserie chicken and ribs for similar money, and has a better room. The Burger Digs wins only when somebody in the group specifically wants a burger.

Does The Burger Digs have a toppings bar?

Yes, and it is the main reason to eat here rather than at another burger counter in the park. It lets you build the burger past what comes on the tray at no extra cost.
